On Saturday, November 10, 2018, St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church in Chelsea, AL, is going to be hosting its 2nd Annual “Turkey Trot for Hunger” 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run to help raise funds for our “Beans and Rice Pantry” and other outreach ministries that we offer to the community. This is a great, family-friendly way to spend a Saturday morning, and all monetary donations received through registration will go to support the Beans and Rice Pantry and other outreach ministries at St. Catherine’s.

The race will begin at 8:30 am on Saturday, November 10. Pre-race packet pickup will be held at St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, November 9. All racers will receive a swag bag, race t-shirt, and racing bib. The St. Catherine’s Turkey Trot for Hunger is a chip-timed race with a certified 5K course.

The Beans and Rice Pantry at St. Catherine’s currently serves almost thirty families every month. When our guests arrive, we give them two grocery bags of food (three pounds of rice, two pounds of beans, and other non-perishable food items). In addition, we give them household goods, such as toilet paper, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. We would be happy to have you come by and see how the ministry works on any third Saturday of the month, beginning at 9:00 am.
