At St. Catherine’s, we believe that the sound of children laughing and playing is a sign of a healthy church! Children are welcome at all services, but if you prefer, our staffed Nursery is available for children through age three every Sunday from 9:00 am until the end of the 10:30 service. The Nursery is located in the Annex, the building next door to the main worship building.

Our Sunday school class for children gathers at 9:15 am. The children meet in the Undercroft (the downstairs area of the main church building) for a lesson with Ms. Mandi Gonzalez while parents are welcome to gather with Father Eric in the Annex for our Sunday Adult Forum. At the end of the class, the children are free to join their parents in the Annex.

In addition, during the 10:30 service, we offer Children’s Chapel using the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) curriculum for children ages 4-11. Shortly after the beginning of the service, all children who wish to participate are invited to move to our downstairs worship area for a special lesson. The children return upstairs during the Peace to sit with their parents during Communion.

Children, including infants, who have been baptized are welcome to receive Holy Communion at their parents’ discretion. Children who are not receiving communion are welcome to receive a blessing, which is indicated by having them cross their arms over their chest. If your child is not yet baptized, please feel free to speak with the rector for more information.
